753 Steel Cutting Tool

Steel cutting tools are ideal for small rectangular insulators where consistent size and fine tolerance are a requirement. Using in house testing we can accommodate for post stamped size by adjusting tool size at manufacture.

Tools are EDM cut from Hardened steel and machine ground to sharp a cutting edge.

When to Use

When customer solution requires small volumes of simple insulators in thin materials such as Presspahn, Formex, Hostaphan, Kapton but with high accuracy and repeatablity.

Advantages

Cheaper that full press tool and quicker to produce
For simply shapes only
Setup time low
Run speed good on small batches
Tolerance +/- 0.15mm if required

Disadvantages

Limit to how fast it can be run
Not able to replicate complex shapes

Cost

Ranging from £150 to £250 depending on size
Small Samco – 100 to 250 per hour
Large Samco – 50 to 150 per hour

Timescale

2-3 Working weeks
