ELEPHANTIDE® Grade 5 Presspaper UL®
(Multi-ply Calendered Electrical Insulating Presspaper)
ELEPHANTIDE® Grade 5 is a cotton liner based presspaper which has been developed for customers who need UL® approval, low extract levels and the toughness and reliability of a cotton (rag) type paper. Its density has been carefully chosen to provide an optimum balance between technical performance and yield, thus providing best value.

This cotton linter furnish is the purest form of naturally occurring cellulose available. The manufacturer use only the first quality linter pulps that are derived directly from the cotton boll.

The purity of furnish ensures long life properties and its compliance with the International Norm IEC 641 makes it an ideal choice for electrical application ranging from fractional horse power (fhp) motors to oil immersed power transformers. It is a popular choice for tag boards, ballasts, bobbins and barriers and many similar applications. In addition to the UL® approval, the uniformity of this grade makes it perfectly suitable for laminating with polyester films.

By arrangement, this grade can also be supplied with a thin varnish coating which allows the material to be used in humid conditions.
